The Carnival Queen (Mrs Sue Richards - she has been married since her election) and her maids of honour will be present and the Mayor and Mayoress (Alderman and Mrs. E. F. Tompkins) have promised to look in. Carnival committee secretary Mr. R.C.T. Dyer told me: "We are hoping that teenagers of Northampton will give full support to this new venture on the part of this committee"."
