Description

Newspaper article about a dance held to raise money for the 1963 Northampton Carnival. The article reads "The 1963 Carnival Parade effort will have an early start this year when, on Saturday, a dance at Northampton Town Hall will be held in aid of carnival funds. Brian Perry and the Deltas have sponsored the dance and are giving their services. The Carnival Queen (Mrs Sue Richards - she has been married since her election) and her maids of honour will be present and the Mayor and Mayoress (Alderman and Mrs. E. F. Tompkins) have promised to look in. Carnival committee secretary Mr. R.C.T. Dyer told me: "We are hoping that teenagers of Northampton will give full support to this new venture on the part of this committee"."
