In 1971 a proposal was put forward for the creation of 'A Grand Festival' by Harry Boreham who was then an advertisment manager of Eastern Counties Newspapers. His vision was for a festival which would include pageants, displays and a wide variety of activities, with leadership coming from the Lord Mayor and the Civic Leaders.
In 1976 Raymond Frostick was appointed Lord Mayor of Norwich and became actively involved with the organisation of the Revival of the Lord Mayors Street Procession. This collection encapsulates the journey of the festival from start to finish.
