This banner was made by Karen Mears with teachers attending Inset (teacher training) on organising a school carnival, Karen taught them about West African textile techniques including the paste resist methods, then they were asked to choose an image that they felt represented Caribbean Carnival, to add to the collective banner. The completed banner was used at the Wandsworth Schools Carnival in Furzedown Park, Tooting in July 2007
