Nadella Benjamin, carnival mas designer from Trinidad, worked with this Lambeth school to create a school carnival, She supported children and staff through the processes which are essential to understanding a mas camp and how costumes are arrived at. The class were working on the topic on St Lucia linked to geographical study of distant environments. Nadella asked children for their suggestions and helped them think about creating section costumes based on the natural resources which support the economy of St Lucia. This costume represents pineapple which is an exported crop. This child is describing and displaying his costume in the whole school assembly.
