Artist Nadella Benjamin fitting costumes with school girls

Nadella Benjamin, Trinidadian masqurade designer from Peter Minshall camp in Trinidad came to UK in summer of 2002 to work on a London Arts funded project in primary and nursery schools in Lambeth and Wandsworth. She is seen here with group of girls in Lambeth school helping them adjust the costumes they have made. A full evaluation of the project was written up for London Arts and is available from Celia Burgess-Macey. One of the main benefits for children was enhanced achievement though the focus on collaborative, communicative and and technical skills during the project.
