This essay was taken from a the course documentation for a short course for PGCE trainee teachers doing their PGCE in 2003/4 on Caribbean Carnival. The aim of the course was to enable the student teachers to understand carnival and see how it linked into the National Curriculum. The course was hosted by Goldsmiths College, London where Celia was a tutor.
