Samaritans float with 'roses' theme, 1999.

The theme the group chose for this year was roses and the people were dressed as clowns. The theme of Roses was inspired by the creation of a 'Samaritan's Rose' by Harkness Roses of Hitchin. The rose was orange and black which used to be the colours of the Samaritans before they changed to green.

Marilyn Gearing spent a long time spray painting lots of roses orange for the float.

The message painted on the float reads "Always at the end of the line whatever the time".

The group won first prize in their category with this entry.
