Description

The theme for this float was a tree with branches. Lincoln Rahamurt made the telephones, used by the Samaritans every year in the carnival, look like tree bark. This formed the centre of the float and then branches that came off the trunk were covered with leaves with months of the years written on them to symbolise the fact that the Samaritans are always there, 12 months of the year.

The Samaritans won first prize for Best Float this year. They also took this float to Huddersfield and paraded in the Huddersfield Carnival.
