St Patrick’s Day Festival 2008
The St Patrick’s Festival Committee have been meeting since the summer and plans from the 2008 St Patrick’s Festival are now well underway. The festival will open on Friday 14th March with what has become our traditional launch Mass and variety night which will this year be held at St Joseph’s in Gardenia Avenue. This will as always be a free night. Then on Saturday 15th the days programme will consist of a pre-parade Mass at Our Lady Help of Christians, the parade which will this year be taking a revised route (look out for more details), an Irish market, music and dance entertainment stage in the town centre and an entertainment stage in the Arndale. This will be followed by two nights of entertainment at the Library Theatre on Sunday 16th and Tuesday 18th, one of these will be a concert and the other a film night.
In order to help raise funds for the festival we will be holding a fundraising dance on Saturday 23rd February 2008 at St Joseph’s Parish Centre from 8pm till late, tickets will go on sale in January, look out for further publicity.
