Failte- Welcome

Welcome everybody to Luton’s 4th Annual St Patrick’s Festival/Parade. The last 3 years have seen the festival go from strength to strength. Thanks to the encouragement of the Irish community and Luton Borough Council, the hard work of our St Patrick’s committee has been rewarded. Our thanks also to Bedfordshire police, and the Arndale management, for their advice and help in putting on our programme.
This year we welcome the Bedford Pipe Band to Luton for the first time. The parade will be led once again by the Luton University Pipe Band, who made such an impression last year. They will be supported by other marching bands and a colourful array of counties and organisations with their flags and costumes.
This year we are keen to promote local talent within the community.
The St Patrick’s Festival and Parade will bring music, dance, song, and a splash of colour to the streets of Luton. Don’t miss out! Come on down to Luton, bring your family and friends along and enjoy a great weekend. You will meet people there that you haven’t seen for years. Be there and enjoy the craic.
We also extend a warm welcome to our visitors from surrounding towns and villages in the region. We trust you will enjoy your stay in Luton.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped with the organising of the Festival and Parade. A special thank-you once again to our sponsors and advertisers and to all of those people who made generous contributions towards financing the event.
Finally, thank-you to the St Patrick’s Committee who have worked so hard and given so much of their time to make this a special day for Luton.
Slainte and a happy St Patrick’s Day to each and every one of you.
Michael Maguire
Chairman, St Patrick’s Festival & Parade.
