Ireland Forever: One enthusiastic fan waves the flag in The Mall Arndale

Thousands go green for St Patrick’s Day
The Mall Arndale reverberated to the sound of traditional Irish music and dance yesterday as the town turned out in force to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
The only man missing was Michael Flatley of Riverdance fame- but his twinkle-toes routines were replicated by a talented team of young dancers.
People dressed for the occasion in emerald green and there were shamrocks and shillelaghs galore- albeit made polystyrene. There was even a pretend bishop complete with tea-cosy mitre and plastic snakes wrapped round his crook.
Luton Irish Forum has marked St Patrick’s Day with a week of celebrations culminating in an Afro-Irish cultural evening tomorrow.
Folk band Banish Misfortune will share the stage with Kasai Masai at Hightown Sports & Arts Centre.
