Description

Slightly later, the next entry was from about 1936 and was the entry of the Co-op Ladies General Committee – “A Deck of Cards”.  This was built on a Co-op milk float and pulled by the Co-op milkman’s horse (the milkman was Mr Dimbleby).  The man walking between the camera and the float is George Scarborough.  He was from Irthlingborough and was related to the Essex family of Desborough.  On the float, to the right of George, is Mrs. Mabel Coe (nee Essex), of Union Street.  She is wearing glasses, and has on a “diamond” pattern dress.
