Sisters Mrs Janice Hughes and Mrs Wendy O’Shea from Acre Lane, Kingsthorpe, surrounded themselves with husbands, daughters, sons, cousins, aunts and uncles to enter a ‘nursery toys’ float. Golliwog Mrs Hughes got the party together and blacked up for her part."
