"Four-and-twenty blackbirds perched on the Blackthorn Lower School float but Stephen Willis was the odd one out.
Stephen's silky plumage didn’t match the costumes of the other blackbirds, which were made from black dustbin liners.
So it was a case of ‘bye bye, blackbird’ and chirpy Stephen made his own way in the carnival procession."
