The dresses for the Northampton Carnival Queen and her attendants will continue to be made by a Northampton firm despite the closure of Tootal Fashions of Northampton who used to make them. Staff of the Grosvenor Dress Company, Talbot Road, Northampton, Miss Dee Johnson, cutting manageress, Mrs Ivy Wright, managing director’s secretary and Mrs Ivy Hammond factory manageress are seen here selecting fabric, in preparation for this year’s parade.

Because Tootal Fashoins of N’pton are unable to supply the N’pton carnival queen with a dress this year, Grosvenor Dress Company of 34, Talbot Rd. have come to the rescue. Seen here selecting fabric that might be suitable for the queen are, left to right, Miss Dee Johnson, Cutting Manageress, Mrs Ivy Wright, Managing directors secretary and Mrs Ivy Hammond, factory manageress.
