The Shoe Trade Queen

Will be
Crowned by His Worship the Mayor of Northampton
(Coun S Perkins, J. P.) on
Friday, July 10thm 1936 at 6.30pm
In The Portico of the Town Hall, Northampton
After the ceremony the Queen will appear at the New Theatre (Second House) by invitation of the Management. 
The Queen will take part in the Hospital Carnival Parade, on Saturday July 11th, 1936, riding in a Court Show 8ft in length, attended by two Pages, Roma Reed and Phyllis Meadows. “Her Majesty” will be wearing a special Crown, Dress, Cloak and Shoes, and her Pages, special dresses and shoes. The dresses, designed by Mr F S Bell of Padmore & Barnes, will be made by Miss M Calridge, Hazelwood Road: the cloak by Messers Wareings (N’pton) Ltd, and the shoes by Messers, Padmore & Barnes Ltd. The leather for the Cloak and Shoes is supplied by Messrs Pettit & Sons (N’pton) Ltd.. The Queen will accept, in addition, a special crown, made and given by Northampton Co-Operative Society Ltd. for use at her official appearances during her year of office: a Permanent Wave given by Mr Montague S Ward: a Pair of Shoes given by Messrs W Parker and A D Tearl (The Mounts Factory) Co. : a latest fashion McIntosh (given by Mr G A Clayson) and a Handbag (given by Saxby’s Leather Goods Store). The Queen will be presented on Friday with a Bouquet given by Messrs Yarde & Co. and on Saturday with a Bouquet given by Mr E. S. Dunkley.
All arrangements in connection with the election of the Queen have made by the Secretary of the Northampton Town Boot Manufacturer Associations, Mr Ernest Brodell, B. Sc.

To Amateur Photographers
The Northampton Photographic Dealers Association offers three prizes valued 21/-, 10/6 and 5/-, for the best snapshots of any Character or Get-Up in the Hospital Parade and Carnival, taken by an amateur. The prizes will be vouchers for the amounts named to be exchanged for photographic goods to be obtained from any member of the Photographic Dealers Association.
Snaps to be sent to the General Secretary of the Carnival, “Battle House”, by July 18th, together with an entry fee of sixpence for each snap entered for the Competition, and the name and address of the Competitor .
The copyright of the prize winning picture remains the property of the Hospital Carnival Committee.
