Foreword
Northampton Carnival Day is here again. The proceeds of the 1956 Carnival Parade are being devoted to selected Old People’s Welfare Organisations, and the Amenity Funds of the Hospitals of the Town. Last year the records post war collection was made, the amount collected en-route being £1,058 6s 6d. Of this £900 was given to Institutions and charitable bodies of the Borough of Northampton.
To-night, there are approximately 800 collecting boxes in circulation, and there will be many opportunities for you to throw money on the various vehicles taking part in the Procession. Carnival night is a night of fun for young and old, but let us remember that the object of the Carnival is to provide assistance for several deserving causes.
We hope that you will enjoy the 1956 Carnival Parade, and trust that your enjoyment will be reflected in generous giving.
W. T. Grose, Chairman.
R. C. T Dyer, Hon. Secretary
