Here's a date for the diary of many Northampton folk - the 1958 Carnival Parade wiil be held on Thursday, June 19.

carnival committee secretary Mr. R.C.T. Dyer tells me: "Many inquiries are already being received about the date of the carnival, and no doubt quite a lot of would-be entrants are anxious to prepare or give preliminary thought to their entries or schemes of decoration."

Anyone with any "new ideas" on the carnival or if anyone anxious to work in any way on or with the committee should contact Mr. Dyer, 73, St. Giles's-street, Northampton.
