Description

The final count of the takings at Northampton Carnival Parade reveals that the total raised was £1,145 15s. 8d. - only about £87 less than last year's post-war record of £1,233.

Mr. R.C.T. Dyer, carnival secretary, said to-day that the total collected on the route was £937 1s. 8d., while £208 14s. had been donated by private residents and business establishments.

Small amounts might still be added to the total, he said.
