Valerie Poultons mother put forward Valerie for Carnival Queen without her knowing. She was elected as a reserve queen.  Valerie remembers a photograph being taken of her and the other candidates taken outside the Queens Hotel in Westcliff -She doesn’t have a copy.  She also remembers having her photo taken with Stanley Baker  - again she doesn’t have a copy.
