Description

This box containing Immunity badges was donated anonymously  to Southend Hospital.

Immunity badges were given out to people who donated money to the carnival prior to the carnival procession taking place. The badge then gave the wearer immunity from contributing to collection tins during the carnival procession. Immunity badges ceased during wartime.
These particular immunity badges were donated anonymously to the hospital in a small box which was posted through the door of the fundraising office at the hospital.
